As Leif Eriksson grew up, he became extremely brave and strong. He committed many good deeds and people started to notice.
When Eriksson turned 24 years old he captained his first trip; taking gifts to the king of Norway, Olaf, with a crew of 14 members. On the fifth day of sailing, the crew spotted land, however Eriksson demanded for them to continue. Due to this, they traveled further south then intended.
When they spotted land next they did stop, due to a massive, horrific storm. It was here where Eriksson had a baby with a lady called Thorgunna. However, Eriksson didn't want his son, named Thorgils, and so left the island with his crew. It was only later that Eriksson accepted Thorgils as his son.

Soon after leaving (a couple of days) they arrived in Norway where Eriksson met Olaf. The king invited Eriksson to stay in Norway, so Eriksson stayed there for a while, living in luxury. It was here where Olaf taught Eriksson about the Gods and Christianity. He explained how there was a terrible plague that killed millions of people, and how as soon as they turned to Christianity, the plague stopped. Eriksson decided to get baptized there and he took a priest back to Greenland to spread the much loved religion.
